A few years back I worked on a project with inner-city 7th and 8th grade students to research if their neighborhood was a "food dessert". Students created survey questions for their peers and then analyzed the data they received.

  2. I created a reflection form for a poetry field trip we attended. It focused the kid's on thinking about the presentation and how it connected to our unit of study on poetry. It also gave me insight into their application of the material we learned in class and what they got from the poetry presentation.

  3. I created a form to get to know my students. I would also use forms as a way of reflection or to gather other information based on our classroom studies.

  5. What a great way to get to know students or for them to get to know you. I can see this being a great assessment tool and the fact that it gives you the data in multiple formats is a huge time saver. I think I will definitely utilize this tool.

Here is my form I will use for my students to get to know me:

    1. I like that idea! I may adapt mine with a pic collage description to start so students could get to know me through pictures!

I created an "About Me" form for each of my students to fill out. This will help me get to know them better in the beginning of the school year.

    1. The great part about this is the information is that it compiles the data in bar/pie charts so you can interpret this with the students!

  7. I created an "About Me" form for my students to fill out at the beginning of the year. This form will help me understand how each student feels about their own personal strengths and areas of improvement. I have done a hard copy of this at mid year to help guide setting goals but I think doing it at the beginning of the year would give me more insight to this new group!

  9. I love Google Forms. I have the students create surveys to provide each other feedback on their project work. Here is a survey created for the science fair to get feedback on technology vs. traditional board projects. The students analyzed the data and found that that giving students the choice to do either a technology or traditional board project was the perfered science fair strategy.

    1. One of my favorite features of this was that the students decided the language and the types of questions that should be on the form!

  10. This is definitely a tool I would use for student surveys and assessments. This would be great for summative assessments as well. And now that everyone has the gmail it would compliment everything we do in class. Below is a student survey for the first week of school.
