If you have a Twitter account and have tweeted at some point this school year CONGRATULATIONS!! This counts toward one of your modules! Please place a link to your Twitter handle in the comments and give us an example of something you tweeted about!
@nmzumpano. I retweet anything that looks like it would benefit teachers or others interested in educational technology. I also try to retweet all the Coonley teacher's tweets to bring their messages to a wider audience!
I really enjoy the use of twitter as it's a great way to display pictures of my students as they are participating in activities at school. I have posted pictures of my students as they worked on their science fair projects, read in the rock garden, created caterpillar life cycle projects, created our recycled tree for Green Week, and other various events that occurred last year. Twitter is a great tool!
I used Twitter only a couple times this past year to share students' thoughts on how they will contribute to the classroom as well as some of the "Hour of Code' activities we did in our classroom. I hope to use Twitter more this coming year as I am becoming more comfortable using it and also my incoming students have had exposure to it.
I use Twitter in a variety of ways within my classroom. Twitter is a great way to connect with other classrooms around the country and even the world. I also like to use Twitter to keep the community and my parents informed of what is going on in our classroom.
I love twitter! I tweet from my personal account @CarpenterCougar and my students tweet from their class account @2ndCougars. I have a "student tweeter" that tweets about our learning daily. We have tweeted with other 2nd grade classes around the world including classes in Ireland, England, Canada & other classes around the US. We also use it to learn from experts such as an Antarctic scientist, authors, NASA enthusiasts, etc. Personally, I follow a world-class group of educators and I learn from them daily. I also engage in twitter chats with other 2nd grade teachers from time-to-time. Twitter is an incredible tool!
I used twitter and had the students tweet about things they were doing in the classroom. I also share things going on around the city with the hope of getting people out and exploring our great city. I tweet @CoonleyRoom301. I'd welcome ideas for new ways to use twitter with the students.
I use Twitter to post photos from field trips and class activities. I use my original Twitter account handle (does anyone remember the original Twitter where it was a map of the world and you could see individual tweets popping up on the map?)

ReplyDeleteMy students did projects on A Midsummer Night's Dream. One student created a lego map of the setting of the story.

I use Twitter on a weekly basis to update parents about what we are learning in class and celebrate student work.

ReplyDeleteLove the idea of tweeting about the city. Chicago can use some positive press!
